Launch of the MyONECI+ App
6 May 2025

April 23, 2025, marks a significant milestone in the modernization of civil registration and identification in Ivory Coast. The National Office of Civil Status and Identification (ONECI) officially unveiled MyONECI+, an innovative mobile application designed to provide secure digital access to citizens’ identities.
A Modern Tool for Digital Identity
Developed with the technical support of Semlex, MyONECI+ enables individuals to access their identity document directly on their smartphones. Based on the National Directory of Natural Persons (RNPP), this solution leverages cutting-edge technologies such as PKI, encrypted certificates, NFC, and biometric authentication to ensure reliable identity verification.
Thanks to this innovation, citizens can:
• Access their digital identity at any time;
• Securely share their information with public administrations and services;
• Benefit from official certification of the data transmitted.
A Tool Benefiting Both Individuals and Professionals
MyONECI+ is designed for both individuals and professionals. In addition to simplifying administrative procedures for citizens, the app addresses the need for identity verification in various sectors. For example, merchants can legally verify a customer’s age before selling regulated products.
An Accessible and Inclusive Solution
Already available for download on Google Play and the App Store, the app is open to all holders of an Ivorian identity document. Activation can be done either via a compatible NFC smartphone or at one of the ONECI agencies.
A Concrete Commitment to Digital Inclusion
Alongside the launch, Semlex Ivory Coast also symbolically handed over the keys of a mobile registration bus to ONECI. This vehicle will enhance identification campaigns across the country, thus strengthening access to identity for all.
With MyONECI+, ONECI and Semlex Ivory Coast reaffirm their joint commitment to building a reliable, accessible digital identity system that supports the digital transformation of Ivorian public administration.
